America 250 (part 3)

The mixed blue is still my favorite color of the group, although those particular dials both ended up slightly off-center under the laser.

While the difference was not earth shattering, the light clear coat versions were my preference. Moving forward, when airbrushing I will start off of the material, give time for the primer to fully cure, and separate thin coats by ~30 minutes to try and refine the finish quality.

The colonial blue version was the one that made it into a case.

The small-seconds layout also made it clear that I need a more repeatable alignment system between paint and laser work. Time to find someone with a 3D printer—or devise a better jig at the bench.

Every dial is teaching me something.

I also had some fun etching the display caseback. This was a bit nerve racking and some refining of these settings should be possible but with a bit of scrubbing, I am going to be pretty happy with this.

I’m just waiting on a 22mm band for this beast and I’ll call this finished for Independence Day.
